ABOUT ME

I'm Sydney. I'm a California-native, ex-Bostonian in Kentucky working in healthcare. I travel during my brief vacation times on a normal-sized budget, bringing my camera (and iPhone) wherever I go.

Besides travel & photography, I enjoy digital art, cooking, hiking, interior design, and a good bad joke. I'm learning portrait and event photography, and I hope to one day open my own home studio and display my work in a gallery.

MY PHOTOGRAPHY JOURNEY

Apart from dabbling in photography in high school and college, my photography journey truly began in grad school. I had been traveling for many years, but it wasn't until I learned how to use Lightroom that my love for this art flourished. Soon after, I discovered the fun of drone photography. I've since settled into my niche of travel & landscape photography.

I used to believe that editing = cheating; after all, a talented editor could transform a blah photo into literally anything. But I realized that editing was a way to bring to life my vision for the photo - and more importantly, what the subject made me feel. Photography is my way of sharing how I experience the world. It's my escape, my reminiscing, and my self-expression all in one.
